Around The World
GREETINGS FELLOW FSVA PILOTS
This world tour has been in the making for many months and has been requested by our former CEM Tim Davis as an interest for all those
pilots who are thinking to themselves “ where do I fly to next”?
The tour has been designed with common smaller passenger jet aircraft to enable VA pilots to complete the legs in one sitting and enjoy
the scenery without the need to set the auto pilot and leave the flight simulator for hours on end. The tour is designed to finish where
you started as a “loop”
The aircraft included in these flights are the following;
Airbus A319. 320 and 321, Boeing 737
Although the A319 has not been tested on these routes, as far as we know they are capable of the distance between Airports in the
tour. Should there be any problems I would appreciate your feedback.
Both Roger Roger and I have completed the tour to confirm destinations and flight time. Initially in the Airbus A320 then changing to
the Boeing 737 to complete the trip.
I/We have selected and uploaded flights / destinations that fall within 1 to 1-1/2 hours in duration. There are a number of shorter
flights and a few longer due to the expanse of some areas, including a few “over sea” legs.
Flight / Route numbers are “FSN9100 – FSN9204” inclusive. The flight numbers are not necessarily in numerical order. There are a
total of 152 flights spanning and including most of the countries around the world. For Aircraft range and flight time limits, some
countries have a number of destinations
The distance between airports has been included in the manifest for you to plan your flight in regard to personal commitments and free
time to fly. This distance NM has been taken off the FSA site from the record of my personal flight. I use FSX default ATC so the
actual distance may vary slightly. All flights have been direct.
The time taken to actually complete each leg can vary depending on your altitude, weather or your flying experience. Using the FSX
ATC for example can direct you away from the destination Airport to intercept approach vectors, which may add 5 or 10 minutes to
your actual flight time.
All destinations in this World Tour are taken from the default database in FSX. In the main, (see below) they are the same ICAO codes
as FS2004, FS2009, Xplane etc. Again if there are any differences I would appreciate you letting me know.
***PLEASE NOTE ***
There are a couple of discrepancies I have found with the FSAirlines Database ICAO code and FSX.
In the manifest they have been noted so please check your destination code before departing, especially if using ATC. As far as
FSAirlines is concerned, your destination arrival is recorded as coordinates and not codes, As long as you land and record the flight at
the correct coordinates you will have no issue.
Depending on your availability and commitment to your flight simulator VA experience, this tour may take anywhere from 1 to 6
months to complete. Some of the routes will earn you big dollars while others not so much. In planning the route I have found that
there are flights that are heavily serviced by other Virtual airlines thus there is not much money to be made. This tour is not designed
to make you rich in your virtual dollars. It IS designed to give you the opportunity to fly to places you may or may not have thought
about. There are a few historical sites around the tour that you may visit in a small aircraft of your choice whilst you are there but are
not considered recordable as a VA flight.
There are a few interesting destinations in this trip. Most Airports have ILS approaches but some do not. Most have good length
runways but some have much shorter ones. The aircraft you choose from the list will get in and out but your piloting skills will be
tested. Can you stop in time or have your aircraft trimmed for takeoff on a short runway?
Consider performing your flight at a lower altitude to take advantage of scenery..
